SoCal ROC held Annual Employer Committee Advisory Meeting

On Thursday, Feburary 1st Southern California Regional Occupational Center kicked off Career Technical Education month hosting their annual Employer Advisory Committee Meeting. All four career sectors, which include School of Art and Design, School of Engineering and Design, School of Health Sciences, and School of Public and Consumer Services, met with representatives from related industries to discuss and review the current career pathways, course offerings, and course outlines to ensure that the content covered in the classes meets the needs of employers and industry demand.

Collaborating with industry partners is an essential component to providing CTE programs that truly prepare students to enter the workforce. Employer partnerships are also a key driving force behind placing SoCal ROC students in externships and employment opportunities.

SoCal ROC Superintendent, Dr. Julian A. Rodriguez shared, "CTE is what it is because of the People we serve, the Programs we offer, and the Partners who keep us connected to the demands of the industry and workforce" and he emphasized the importances of staying current and making a connection that can be applied directly to the workforce. The information gathered from this meeting is utilized in the planning process for the upcoming school year.

SoCal ROC is truly grateful for its Industry Partners and their major contribution to SoCal ROC and their community.
