Students Practice Job Interview Skills with Mock Interviews
Volunteers from California State University, Dominguez Hills, Loyola Marymount and the South Bay volunteer to assist students with Mock Interviews.
The Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC) held its fall 2016 Mock Interviews on October 13, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to provide students with an opportunity to practice interview skills in preparation for future employment opportunities.
Close to 1400 interviews were held within the twelve hour event. Approximately 150 volunteers participated from volunteer sources, including LinkedIn, The Volunteer Center, California State University, Dominguez Hills, Idealist.org, Createthegood.org, The South Bay Professionals Association, Torrance Chamber of Commerce, Professionals in Human Resources Association, and Loyola Marymount. Approximately 445 students participated in this event.
SoCal ROC would like to thank all volunteers who participated in making this event such a success! Volunteer provided informative and constructive feedback on students’ performance such as interview attire, confidence, appropriateness of responses, and non-verbal communication.
