Students Participated in the Spring Mock Interviews
The Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC) held its Spring 2016 Mock Interviews on April 18, 2016. The Job Placement Services Department coordinated this campus-wide event that provided SoCal ROC students an opportunity to hone their job interviewing skills in preparation for future employment opportunities.
Over 500 students participated, completing three practice interviews. Close to 93 volunteers from the Greater South Bay businesses and California State University, Dominguez Hills Business and Human Resource students assisted with the interviewing. SoCal ROC students answered questions similar to those asked in an actual job interview. The volunteers provided constructive feedback on the students’ performance in areas such as non-verbal communication, appearance, and the appropriateness of their responses.
SoCal ROC would like to thank all of the volunteers who participated including the following: California State University, Dominguez Hills, Volunteer Center, South Bay Professionals Association, VolunteerMatch, Professionals in Human Resources Association, and the Torrance Chamber.
If you are interested in serving as an interviewer or a speaker in future career preparation events, please contact SoCal ROC’s Job Placement Services Coordinator Vikki Westerskov at vwesterskov@scroc.k12.ca.us or 310-224-4238.
